This course is designed to equip Remedial Massage Therapists with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to safely and effectively incorporate dry needling techniques into their practice. Dry needling is a therapeutic modality that involves the insertion of thin needles into trigger points, muscles, or connective tissues to alleviate pain and improve musculoskeletal function. Participants will learn the principles, techniques, and applications of dry needling through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice sessions.

The Remedial Massage Therapist Dry Needling Course (The Introductory and Advanced combined) is held on the same weekend. The practical hands-on demonstration will run from Friday 6.30-9.30pm (Introductory), Saturday 8.30am-6pm (Introductory) and on Sunday 8.30am-6pm (Advanced).

This 80 hour Dry Needling Course meets the standards required by insurers to be legally safe to apply Dry Needling in the clinically setting.
The course combines both the Introductory and Advanced curriculum, offering a comprehensive understanding and practical competence in dry needling techniques for musculoskeletal conditions. Remedial massage therapists will learn the theoretical basis, safety protocols, and hands-on techniques for effective dry needling.
Precise Points Dry Needling Courses are infused with a strong background in osseous, muscular and neuroanatomy. Through a comprehensive analysis of the anatomy and physiology that underpins Dry Needling and all forms of manual therapy, you will be able to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal pain, structural dysfunction, acute and chronic conditions. In addition, more obscure clinical presentations will also be explored.
Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical hands-on training, and interactive discussions, participants will learn how to accurately assess patients, identify trigger points, and develop personalised treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
The foundation of all techniques taught in the Precise Points Dry Needling Course is a fundamental understanding of what is being treated, why it is being treated, how the techniques used can benefit the condition. Therefore, you will leave the course understanding how best to administer your chosen techniques.
The Level 1 Dry Needing Course focuses on building a strong foundation in dry needling techniques, emphasising safety protocols, needle insertion techniques, and basic needle manipulation skills. Remedial massage therapists will learn how to effectively address common musculoskeletal conditions such as neck pain, low back pain, shoulder impingement, and sciatica.
The Level 2 Dry Needling Course builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired in Level 1, delving deeper into advanced dry needling techniques and their applications in complex clinical scenarios. Remedial massage therapists will explore advanced needling approaches, including intramuscular, periosteal, and ligamentous techniques, as well as strategies for integrating dry needling into comprehensive rehabilitation programs.

- Practical Hands-on Training – The 2.5 days workshop is delivered on Friday evenings, Saturday & Sunday in Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane. (Check available dates on the right)
Pre-course materials and theoretical components are provided online, allowing Remedial Massage Therapists to learn the necessary background information at their own pace before attending practical hands-on sessions. The online component includes theory related to the essentials of Dry Needling, such as the mechanisms of Dry Needling, safety considerations, treatment protocols, understanding skin penetration and more.
Following on from the online theory modules, participants will have access to over 120 videos of material related to Dry Needling techniques specifically related to osseous, soft tissue and practical demonstrations.
The 2.5 Days practical component is entirely hands-on, building on the material covered in the online content and applying it to the practical aspects of Dry Needling. Through a combination of visual, palpatory, and practical exercises, regional areas of the body will be explored using different Dry Needling techniques. This includes instruction on proper needle insertion depth, angle, and manipulation techniques to elicit desired responses.
Under the guidance of an experienced dry needling doctor, you’ll learn various needling techniques, understanding anatomy in relation to dry needling while practicing on fellow participants.
To ensure competence, each course module have mini exams that must be completed to advance to the next part of the series. This will solidify your learning experience and give you confidence as you enter the practical component of the course.
Upon course registration, participants receive 12 months access to the online dry needing course support materials to supplement their learning.

Course Objectives
- Understand the theoretical foundations of dry needling, including the neurophysiological mechanisms of pain relief and muscle relaxation
- Develop proficiency in identifying trigger points and determining appropriate needling sites based on anatomical landmarks and clinical assessment.
