Dry Needling Courses Melbourne Level 1
The L1 Precise Point Dry Needling Course is a combination of online material in the form of course notes and face to face attendance with practical demonstrations.
The online component provides an introduction to Dry Needling, its uses and contraindications, including practical and legal safety considerations (via the Skin Penetration Act). It also includes prereading material, and an opportunity to review the powerpoint presentation at the participants leisure prior to attendance of the practical demonstration.
With the theoretical material completed, the practical course can build upon the concepts introduced in the online material and apply this to Dry Needling techniques.
The L1 Precise Point Dry Needling Course prides itself on being straight to the point, so that no time is wasted on things that cannot be of benefit within the clinical setting.
The course shall commence with identifying potential causes of pain, injury and dysfunction in the anterior and posterior upper limb and brachium. This will allow the beginner to build knowledge, skill and confidence in an area of the body where results are great and negative consequences of treatment are low.
This is followed by identification and Needling of the anterior and posterior hip, anterior and posterior lower limb, and the lumbar.
The only way to build both palpatory and needling skill is via practice.
This is the intention and focus of Precise Point Dry Needling Courses for GPs, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Massage Therapists and Podiatrists.
On completion of payment access to the online theory, reading material and practical demonstrations will be available. Access to online material is valid for 12 months.

COURSE PROGRAMME
What is included:
Online material (including readings, course notes, all practical demonstrations from both Level 1 and Level 2, anatomy videos, soft tissue location videos and case studies) combined with 2.5 days practical demonstration.
Sunday 8:30am – 5pm
Level 2 practical class covers:
- Lumbar (for the acute and obscure patient)
- Thorax
- Rib cage
- Cervical
- Hands
- Feet
- Anterior cervical
- Anterior face
- TMJ
Case studies and practical demonstration of treatment of musculoskeletal conditions
Dry Needling Courses Melbourne Level 2
Level 2 is encouraged to be completed in the same weekend as L1, building upon this foundation to allow confidence and skill to be improved in areas of the body that are more challenging.
Level 2 will continue with the lumbar, utilizing different positions and styles to treat the tricky or acute client with lumbar pain – which is the most common musculoskeletal presentation within the clinical setting for GPs, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Massage Therapists and Podiatrists.
Following the lumbar all applicable muscles in the thorax, ribcage and cervical will be addressed for both safety and technique. Examples of foolproof needling techniques for these areas will leave the practitioner confident of needling anywhere on the dorsal surface of the body.
Needling will then address and demonstrate techniques for pain, injury and dysfunction in the anterior cervical, TMJ and anterior face.
The extreme peripheries and the small joints in the hands and feet will also be demonstrated, allowing the practitioner to treat more obscure and stubborn conditions that occur in these areas such as trigger finger and bunions.
The Level 2 course will end by putting all the theoretical, anatomical, physiological and practical techniques together into a series of treatment scenarios where the participant will be able to comment or present case studies in vivo, learning to apply all techniques taught in Level 1 and Level 2.
